Green Day head out on 2nd leg of North American tour

After wrapping up a sold-out stadium tour of Europe, multi-platinum rock band Green Day will hit the road next week for a series of North American tour dates, including an August 7th stopover at this year’s Lollapalooza Festival in Chicago. This is the second leg of the band’s U.S. tour in support of their Grammy Award winning album 21st Century Breakdown. Please see below for all tour dates.

Critics raved about the first leg of the 21st Century Breakdown tour, which launched in North America in July of 2009, before continuing on to Europe in the fall. ‘As if releasing a wave of energy that had been building up during their four-year hiatus from touring, Green Day poured all their heart and soul into a powerhouse two-hour set,’ said Rolling Stone, while Spin noted that ‘the band’s relationship with its audience is disarmingly real, a cross-generational give-and-take that’s as punk as any Gilman Street scroungers today.’

Released by Reprise Records on May 15th, 2009, 21st Century Breakdown debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Top 200 chart, as well as on the Rock, Active Rock, and Alternative charts. The album has spawned two hit singles, ‘Know Your Enemy,’ which has been certified gold, and the platinum-selling ’21 Guns,’ whose video won three 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, including ‘Best Rock Video.’ The band took home their second American Music Award for ‘Favorite Alternative Music Artist’ in November. Green Day Rock Band has been nominated for a Teen Choice Award for Best Video Game.

Additionally, Green Day’s smash hit Broadway show American Idiot won two 2010 Tony Awards and continues to thrill audiences eight times a week at The St. James Theater in New York City. For tickets and more information, visit: www.AmericanIdiotonBroadway.com

Look out for Green Day, which is singer-guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong, bassist Mike Dirnt, and drummer Tre Cool, performing their new single, ‘Last of the American Girls,’ on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon on Friday, July 30th.

Sheryl Crow’s new music is so good she ‘could strip to it’

The ‘Summer Day’ singer recently wrote a tune for a striptease scene in a New York stage show and thinks it is so impressive, it could even persuade her to take her clothes off.

She said: ‘A friend of mine has asked me to write the music for the Broadway musical version of the film ‘Diner’. There’s a scene where these three women do a striptease and I came up with the music for it.

‘t’s so good I could strip to it. And I’m 48.’

The Grammy award-winning star ‘ who has adopted children Levi, six weeks, and three-year-old Wyatt ‘ admitted her kids may join forces with the offspring of singer Jack White to form a group in the future.

She told Q magazine: ‘Jack White has a hang-out place in Nashville and he opened it up to everyone to come and see his band The Dead Weather play. I bumped into his wife Karen and we agreed that we would get the kids together some time.

‘Could they form a band? I suppose they could. Jack White seems pretty open to ideas so maybe he might get involved too. That would be, like, what, his 10th band?’

Lady Gaga’s boyfriend Luc Carl dumped his girlfriend to get back together with the pop star

New York-barman Luc has been close to Gaga ‘ real name Stefani Germanotta ‘ for four years, and the pair rekindled their romance after she returned to the ‘Big Apple’ to visit him last month.

The ‘Alejandro’ singer was unaware Luc was dating someone else when she went to see him and the hunk ditched his other love when he knew Gaga was interested in him again.

A friend of the ‘Poker Face’ singer’s said: ‘Luc was like the cat that got the cream. He had the most famous woman in the world vying for his attention and a hot young blonde waiting in the wings.

‘t could have ended really badly, but the other girl melted into the background. She knows what Luc’s like ‘ he has women all over the place… Gaga has convinced herself that this time she’s got Luc back for good.

‘She says it’s serious and that, after a few false starts, she thinks they are back on for good.’

Gaga first met Luc when she was working in New York club St. Jerome’s in 2006, but rekindled their friendship when she invited him to a New York Mets baseball game in June.

Since then the pair have been ‘together’, with Gaga even flying Luc out to join her on her ‘Monster Ball’ tour in Houston, Texas.

However, Luc’s mother Melinda is not over-enthusiastic about their reunion, because the relationship ended badly last time.

She told the Daily Mirror newspaper: ‘They had a very nasty break-up last time. And I have no idea how this will end. I deliberately haven’t talked to him about what’s going on. With those two, you never know.’
